At the age of 9, Bruce at his first concert for the Henry N. Forbes School of Music, in the YMCA hall in Dundee, circa 1950.    Bruce had been playing for a year at this time.    (Note the snazzy outfit!)

 

 

Circa 1955/6, the Henry N. Forbes School of Music Senior Accordion Orchestra.    Bruce,seated at front far left, was composing for this orchestra even then!

Bruce's first professional trio of 1964, playing in the Northern England Cabaret Clubs. 



Bruce at the keyboard controller of his home studio circa 1980, where he would relax after spending long days in the professional London studios! 
To augment his writing skills, Bruce learned to play all of the woodwind, keyboards, percussion, and electronic instruments.      He was listed in the British Musician Union Directory as being the most-versatile intrumentalist in the United Kingdom.
The world's biggest and smallest keyboards. The one below was a one-time set  for  the  Miss World  TV show.  It cost £5,000,000 to set up, and was broken up the day after the show.

     The keyboard on the right is the Melodica, featured by Bruce for many years in his one-man keyboard concerts.

Circa 2000, Bruce in typical studio mode!     This time he is conducting his own 26-piece Big Band.
